Hello! Great tutorial! Thank you! My rectangular marquee tool won’t allow me to put in a feather value, but my elipitical marquee tool will allow me. Any idea how I can fix this? Thank you!

Hi.. I’ve been practicing the marquee tool and I can’t turn it off after I’m done doing my artsy stuff. What do you do to turn it off so it no longer is there? Thanks.

Hey, I think this is a great tut, but! how can I select a part of a picture with round corners. BUT! how can i prevent the part that the edges start to blur?!?!

Tim,

After you select with the Marquee tool, simple press Ctrl-C (Win) or Command-C (Mac) to copy the selection to the clipboard. Then press Ctrl (or Command)-N for a new file. The dimensions will automatically be that of the selection. Then press Ctrl-V to paste the clipboard contents into the new file. Then save it your normal way. Voila!

hi, i am new to photoshop. i want to select a certain part of a picture and just save that particular part as a new whole picture. how do i do that?
