I am experiencing inconvenience with capitalized file extensions. When I save a Photoshop image as a jpg, the final product on my local drive ends up having the file extension capitalized. This occurs despite the correct setting for “File Handling” being set in Photoshop:

Edit>Preferences>File Handling>File Extension>Use Lower Case

I have to manually change the case of the file extension because when I FTP the image name is case-sensitive. the file will not even be recognized at all otherwise. I have Windows Vista. Any ideas as to whats up with that? Thanks!

Possible reason for the need to note lowercase file extensions???

My FTP program forces a capital letter to take precedence. So when alphabetizing files I get file “1234.XYZ” before file “1234.abc”.

Weird, I know.
