I don’t know what i did to my photoshop, but for some reason i can not paint on the layer mask. i have added the mask, clicked to be sure i’m working on it, and tried both white and black just to be sure. it’s not just one image, i’m sure it’s a setting i’ve adjusted unknowingly. Can you please help!!!!

I tried this a thousand times over and I cant get it to work. I am using the newest Photoshop CS5 Extended Edition. Will it work with this too? When I tried to paint with black over the image, it wouldnt let me.

is there any way to 1. rotate the marquee tools, as you may not always want something totally square, and 2. use different shapes as marquee tools? (e.g. triangle, trapezium, soft corner rectangle etc. )
